Associate Dentist
Dr Donna Harvey.
Donna knew she wanted to be a dentist at fourteen. Seventeen years later, she has worked every role in the clinic — sterilising, assisting, reception, and finally the chair — and she brings all of that perspective to every patient who walks in the door.
Donna’s story
Most kids with braces just count the days until they come off. Donna watched her orthodontist work and decided that was what she wanted to do with her life. She was fourteen. From then on, the path was set.
She started in the industry early — sterilising instruments, then assisting, then reception — quietly absorbing everything she could from every dentist she worked alongside. By the time she stepped into the chair herself, she already had years of practical experience and a clear picture of the kind of dentist she wanted to be.
Her formal dental studies came with awards for academic excellence and included placement at Tweed Hospital. Since then she has worked across the full spread of dental clinics — corporate, private, city and semi-rural — before finding her home at Biltoft Dental.
In her own words, dentistry is “a mini carpentry trade twisted with science, art, and a social aspect.” That captures her pretty well: practical, precise, creative, and genuinely interested in the people she treats.
How Donna works
Her approach
Honest advice
If you do not need a treatment, Donna will tell you. If you do, she will walk you through exactly why — no jargon, no pressure, just a straight conversation about what makes sense for you.
Plain language
Donna has a natural talent for taking complicated dental ideas and making them simple. You will always leave her chair understanding what is happening in your mouth and why it matters.
Breaking the stigma
Her goal with every new patient is the same: get them from “treatment plan” to “relaxed six-monthly check-up” as quickly and comfortably as possible. Less fear, more trust.
Outside the practice
Donna at home
Donna is a mum to a young family and escapes to the beach in the 4WD any chance she gets — camping somewhere the Wi-Fi is weak and the stars are strong. She has a background in horse riding and used to commute to uni on a motorbike, which gives you a pretty good sense of who she is: down-to-earth, adventurous, and not easily rattled.
